The "Romantic Road" from Landsberg to Fussen turned out to be a bust, so we set Betsy on avoid highways, toll roads, traffic and ferries...we ended up on another unpaved road through a forest that should be called the black forest but isn't. Rick Steves gets an F for this recommendation. Alas we arrived in Fussen and got a glimpse of King Ludwig's famous castle.
