High on a hill stood a lonely castle, yodelady hoo!

As soon as we entered Austria we saw this castle on a hill far off in the distance with a beautiful town nestled in the valley below. We were so tempted to detour and take a peak, but Vienna beckoned and not knowing whether or not parking would take 2 hours, we opted to continue down the road. I looked it up on the Web, turns out it is the Castle Falkenstein founded in 1050 and conquered but not destroyed by the Swedes in 1645. Later it was dismantled by its owners who used the building materials elsewhere. Now it is the site of summer medieval feasts and plays. It sure sits majestically over this valley.
